Abstract:

The paper contains a detailed analysis of the poem by M.T. Lasuria “The Star of Dawn” as a unique work of art in the context of the origin and formation of religious and spiritual literature; it is emphasized that the poem is a new word in Abkhaz literature and a new milestone in its history, and will contribute to the search for a new path for further literary development. It is noted that although the poem was created in 2016–2017 in Sukhum, Moscow, Jerusalem and Bethlehem, its origins and material were the events of the poet’s entire life, filled with the richest experience and unconditional creative talent. This is, first of all, the translation into the Abkhaz language of the Holy Scripture, the Four Gospels and all the books of the New Testament, as well as the Psalter. The artistic space of the poem included countries, regions, cities, villages, mountains, rivers, Orthodox cathedrals, temples, monasteries; Biblical heroes, historical figures, writers, artists, scientists, epic and literary characters, and, finally, members of the poet’s own family are introduced; thus, the poem embraces the past, present, future and eternity of the Divine creation of the world, covering the widest expanses. Enthusiastic reviews of the poem by scientists, writers, poets, and translators are given.
