Abstract:
The article dedicated to the 150th anniversary of М.М. Prishvin's birth presents the history of the relationship between the writer and another, less known but still arousing interest among young readers writer, S.T. Grigoriev. The article extensively uses Prishvin's letters to Grigoriev, introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. Their friendship began in 1926 after Prishvin bought a house in Sergiev and became a neighbor of Grigoriev. Нe enjoyed success with young people and was widely published until the Rapp critic S. Gavrilov publicly declared the hostility of Grigoriev's artistic pursuits to the Мarxist-Leninist theory. Gorky helped the writer to return to literature. Grigoriev resumed his correspondence with him through the mediation of Prishvin. The friendship of the two writers continued until Grigoriev died in 1953. The article demonstrates new facets of Prishvin's personality.
