Abstract:
This research and publication introduces into the field of Russian humanities a handwritten book of Moscow origin from the late 1680s — early 1690s (now kept in the Austrian National Library, Vienna). This manuscript is representative for Russian literary culture of the Early Modern Times. The anthology of a diverse literary repertoire includes works created between 1660 and the late 1680s, and also contains previously unknown and little-known works by the court poets Simeon Polockij (1629–1680) and Sylvester Medvedev (1641–1691). A few works are set to the music and accompanied by a musical notation. A comprehensive study of the monument and its publication in its entirety was carried out on the basis of codicological, paleographic, textual, and source analysis, as well as research in the fields of literary and cultural history. The book is intended for researchers in the field of humanities (history and theory of literature and culture, musicology, history of Russian theatre), university teachers and students, and anyone who is interested in the history of Russian literature and culture.
