Abstract:
The article deals with the characteristics of Joseph Brodsky’s poetics, its formation and analysis of the categories based on which the poet described his work and poetry in general. The categories of rhythm, language, time, and the specify (solitude) of human existence are considered as fundamental elements of Brodsky’s worldview, essential for the interpretation of his poetry, essays, and biography. The legitimization of the author’s poetic discourse and the comprehensive research of Brodsky’s theory of creativity, as found in his essays, interviews, articles, and letters, allows for viewing all his works through the author’s lens.
