Abstract:
The article examines two cases of reception of Vladimir Mayakovsky by Novosibirsk writers. The first is connected with Mayakovsky on the pages of the magazine “The Present”. It is shown that mentions of the poet are divided into two groups: mentions in connection with the literature of the fact, which the magazine is trying to develop, and the use of poetic quotes to illustrate the theses of articles. The latter group conflicts with the policy of “The Present,” where they tried to minimize the use of poetic material, but an exception was made for Mayakovsky. The second case is dedicated to the only encounter of the Novosibirsk writer A.V. Vysotsky with Mayakovsky. A note found in Vysotsky’s archives about this encounter, which took place in the Glavpolitprosvet building on Sretensky Boulevard in the winter of 1921–1922, is being published. The appendix contains Vysotsky’s note about this meeting, published in 1940 in “Soviet Siberia”.
