Abstract:

The text examines all possible variants of the influence of V. Mayakovsky’s work on L. Dobychin’s prose — from the use of quotations from his poems without quotation marks, and references to films with his participation to the creation of parodies of them and their author. All this can be regarded as a special case of “fear of influence” — feeling the pressure of an already formed tradition, the beginning writer rebels against it and clears a place for himself, distorting the work of his predecessor. The biographical aspect also plays a significant role here.
