Abstract:

The article is devoted to the analysis of the main aspects in the study of V.V. Mayakovsky’s life and work in the foreign cultural space in the 21st century. The author examines the key moments that determined the role of Mayakovsky in different historical periods in connection with socio-political circumstances. The methods of comparative-typological research, sociocultural observations, results of the studies carried out by Russian and foreign scholars concerning interrelations between Russian and world literature are used. In the course of consideration of modern studies, the characteristic features of the perception of Mayakovsky in the countries of Europe, Latin America, Asia, and the United States are highlighted, showing that Mayakovsky’s works retain not only historical, but also aesthetic significance for their national culture.
