Abstract:

The volume presents studies, texts and notations of the most illustrative and original samples of Kalmyk, Buryat, and Mongolian folk songs. The scientific apparatus comprises introductory analytical articles discussing a history of their collecting and recording, as well as poetics of the genre, glossaries and notations. The appendix includes audio samples of folk songs of Mongolian peoples. The edition appeals to folklorists, literary studies scholars, ethnographers, cultural studies experts, and to everyone who is interested in the traditional cultural heritage of the Mongolian-speaking peoples.
